We’re entering peak hurricane season
|
You may be hearing from friends and family about how it’s been a “quiet” hurricane season. August brought us storms Dexter, Erin, and Fernand, none of which made landfall on the East Coast. But history shows us that a quiet start is expected, and we’re now entering the busiest time of hurricane season.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance with a 40% chance of forming over the next 7 days. It’s too early to know its path, but warmer-than-average sea surface temperatures in the tropical Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Seas will help fuel storm activity.
